Emilio Gallegos Bustamante, Sr., 94, of Andrews passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 in Midland.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Filadelifa Assembly of God Church, 260 SE 1000, in Andrews with Pastors Emilio and Diana Bustamante, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery. Prayer services will be at 7:00 PM Saturday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel and 5:00 PM Sunday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Emilio was born on May 30, 1925 in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico to Petrolino Bustamante, Sr. and Dominga Gallegos Bustamante. He lived in El Mulato for many years, where he farmed and ranched. He married Refugia Morales on March 14, 1953 in El Mulato, Mexico. He moved to Andrews in 1979 to be closer to family and farmed, was a a roustabout for Superior Welding, and worked at Palmer Tanks. He enjoyed going all over town collecting aluminum cans and loved eating chivito with his family. He loved to play around and joke with his grandchildren, which he had nicknames for them all. He was a member of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews and New Hope Assembly of God Church in Odessa. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother, Jesus, Sr., 7 sisters, Juliana, Paulina, Dominga, Eraclia, Enedina, Petra, and Cruz, and 2 grandsons, Antonio and Jorge Bustamante.
Emilio is survived by his daughter, Maribel Alvarez of Andrews, 4 sons, Rene and Maria Bustamante, Sr. of Andrews, Cruz and Linda Bustamante of Alamogordo, New Mexico, Enrique and Norma Bustamante of Baytown, and Emilio and Diana Bustamante, Jr. of Odessa, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
