Geraldine I. “Gerri” (Bowles) Thomas, 97 of Andrews passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Andrews.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastor Les Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Monday at the funeral home. Gerri, as she enjoyed being called, was born October 12th, 1922 to Henry Bowles and Pernice (Auten) Bowles in Wetumka, Ok. She graduated from Wetumka High School in 1939, and later was married to Jack Thomas, who also went to the same High School. They were married in Las Vegas, NV. October 4, 1942 during his Army days of World War 2, when he was stationed at Taft, Ca.
Their only child, Victor, was born on August 10, 1943 at Holdenville, Oklahoma, when Jack was stationed in England for the remainder of his, drafted service life, in the Army Air Force. Upon his return to the United States, Jack and Gerri moved to Tulsa, OK, where he was employed by Amoco Oil Company, later they were transferred to Levelland, TX, and finally were transferred to Andrews, TX, in 1952, where she continued working, as a house wife and mother to their only son. She enjoyed her home, growing flowers and house work. They both were members of the Country Club in Andrews for several years.
She had a very good life with Jack and enjoyed life a lot. They were married until his death on January 19, 1990 in Andrews and she will be interred beside him.
Gerri is survived by a son, Victor Thomas and wife Paula of Lubbock, Texas, nephew, Terry Thomas and wife Vicki of Andrews, Texas, niece, Marthinel Vialle and husband Robert of Weatherford, Texas.
Her remaining family suggest that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
