Ronny was born on December 30, 1955 in Galveston, Texas to Charles Wayne Murray and Evangeline Reindorp Murray. He was raised up in the Methodist Children’s Home in Waco from 1962 – 1974 and attended Waco High School. He proudly served on 4 ships in the U.S. Navy from 1979 – 1983 and as a Navy Recruiter in Fort Worth for 1 year. He has been married to Vicki Deniece O’Briant and they have lived in Andrews for many years. He had worked as a manager for Lowe’s in Waco and Midland, Northern Tool in Odessa, Tractor Supply in Seminole and Andrews, and Shopko in Andrews. He will be remembered for his great customer and friendly service, where he tried to speak to everyone, and especially their children. He grew up not having a lot of family and support, so he tried to make you feel very welcome. He liked NASCAR and Jimmy Johnson, traveling in his motorhome with his wife to the lake to see family, fishing at Lake Fork, Baylor University and watching all their sports, and collecting memorabilia from NASCAR, Texaco, cars, and tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Beverly Taylor, and uncle, Howard Johnson.
Ronny is survived by his wife, Vicki Murray, of Andrews, Texas; son, Josh Mitchell and wife, Claire, of Lovington, New Mexico; sister, Melissa Connolly and husband, Patrick, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, Donny Dobbins and wife, Janet, of Wimberley, Texas; aunt, Helen Johnson of Greenville, Texas; and brother in law, Charles Taylor of Robinson, Texas; special grandson, Kaden Mitchell of Lovington, New Mexico; and numerous nephews and nieces.
