Obituary

Sandra J. Alcorn Pearcy, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a graveside service at 2:00 PM Monday, January 28, 2019 in the Andrews Old Cemetery. A meal will be provided following the services for the family at the First Baptist Church, 201 NE 2nd Street, in Andrews. Cremation arrangements are being handled by McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Please celebrate her life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

She was born October 10, 1941 in Sweetwater, Texas to Gwendolyn and Charlie Alcorn. She grew up in Andrews, TX. She made many friends at Andrews High School where she was voted the Harvest Queen and Miss Andrews High School. She continued her education at Baylor University with a major in Latin. Sandy worked as a teacher at Galena Park High School, then with the Texas Education Agency. Sandy and Larry Pearcy married on January 28, 1968. The couple lived in Odessa, Texas where they had their son David. The family moved to Lima, Peru for several years, then settled in Gunnison, Colorado where Sandy owned a shop called Nazca Imports. Sandy was like a mom to anyone who needed advice or a shoulder to cry on. She had an amazing ability to reach people in a positive way. She was an accomplished pianist, gifted crafter, dabbled in painting, sewing, jewelry making, and stained glass.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Larry; son, David Pearcy and wife Alysia, granddaughter, Mackenzie; mother, Gwendolyn; sister, Dorenda; nieces, Hether and Milanda; and many other nieces and nephews.
