Pedro Hinojos Burciaga
Pedro Hinojos Burciaga, 98, of Andrews passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carlos Arellano officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 AM – 9 PM on Wednesday and 9 AM – 1 PM on Thursday at the funeral home, and a prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Pedro was born on June 29, 1920 in Valle de Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico to Santos Burciaga and Elena Hinojos. He had lived most of his life in Valle de Zaragoza, where he farmed and ranched. He married Aniceta Moreno Burciaga in April 1951 in Valle de Zaragoza. He loved working outside on his farm, where he raised and sold horses, donkeys, goat, and cattle and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. During the 1950’s, he would come to Texas to do brass work. He moved to Hobbs, New Mexico and Andrews in 2000 to be closer to his children. He was raised to be very respectful and obedient to his parents, siblings, and his wife. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to joke around and make you laugh and smile. He was a member of the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist in Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aniceta Burciaga on September 2, 2014, his parents, daughter, Martha Bermea, daughter in law, Estefania Burciaga, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers.

Pedro is survived by his 8 children, Socorro Perez and husband, Angel, of Hobbs, Julieta Alvarado and husband, Miguel, of Andrews, Gutberto Burciaga of Hobbs, Genaro Burciaga and wife, Elsa, of Phoenix, AZ, Merced Burciaga and Joel Melendez of Andrews, Kuquis Jurado and husband, Albert, of Hobbs, Naty Escobar and husband, Manuel, of Hobbs, and Pedro Burciaga, Jr. and wife, Juanita, of Andrews; son in law, Raul Bermea of Hobbs; 28 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson.
