Amador Hinojos Valenzuela, 77, of Andrews passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 in Odessa.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Isai Garcia of La Nueva Jerusalem Church in Andrews officiating. Visitation will be from 5 – 9 PM on Friday and 9 AM – 1 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Amador was born on June 29, 1941 in La Salada, Coahuila, Mexico to Ismael Olivas Valenzuela, Sr. and Maria Dominguez Hinojos Valenzuela and was raised on a ranch in La Salada. He had worked as a roustabout and pusher for Superior Service for many years and had lived in Fort Stockton and then moved to Andrews. He married Susan Holliday in Fort Stockton, and she preceded him in death. They had attended First Assembly of God Church in Andrews. He loved his life, including working on his lawn, cooking, working with cattle and horses, and making his famous barbeque. Among his favorite hobbies included spending time visiting his brother, Ismael, and nieces and nephews, including Irma and Saul, Jr. and their children. In our memories, we can see him singing along with his guitar and singing his favorite songs. Anytime he had the chance, he loved to eat fish at La Mision Restaurant in Midland. He was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter, MaryAnn Valenzuela, and sister, Rosa Elva Gonzalez.

Amador is survived by a special niece that he considered like a daughter, Irma Flores and husband Saul, Jr., of Andrews and their children, Sarai and Isabella; 1 brother, Ismael H. Valenzuela of Andrews, 4 sisters, Irma Morales of Lemoore, California, Flora Valenzuela, Catalina Valenzuela, and Hermelinda Valenzuela, all of Múzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico; 5 children, Flora Valenzuela, Amador Valenzuela, Jr. and wife, Naomi, Javier Valenzuela, Sarah Michelle Valenzuela, all of Fort Stockton, and Susan Long and husband, James, of Odessa; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
