Kenda Heckler, 62, of Andrews passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at 10:00 AM Friday, January 12, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Pack and Rev. Brant O’Connor officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home. Kenda was born on December 31, 1955 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Kenda married Rick Heckler on May 26, 1973 and she graduated from Big Spring High School in May 1974. Rick and Kenda, and their two children, Sonya and Alan, moved to Andrews in 1987. From age 21 until moving to Andrews, Kenda was the Vice President of Lending with Citizens Federal Credit Union. Her first employer in Andrews was the National Bank of Andrews. In 1992, she was hired as a County Clerk Deputy and in 2008 she took office as the Andrews County Clerk until her passing. Kenda loved her children and grandchildren. She greatly valued her dear friends and was passionate about her work. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joye Harmon Minchew, and her father, A.D. Harmon, and her brother, Harvey Harmon, Sr. Her step-father, Charlie Minchew, resides in Big Spring, Texas.
Kenda is survived by her husband Rick Heckler of Andrews; a daughter, Sonya and her husband Justin Cheyne of Andrews; a son, Alan and his wife Carie Heckler of Highland Park, Texas; five grandchildren, Madeline Heckler, Finley Heckler, and Caitlyn Heckler all of Highland Park, Texas, and Landry and Raylee Cheyne of Abilene, Texas; a nephew, Harvey Harmon, Jr., of Odessa, Texas.
