Armando R. Gutierrez, 67, of Andrews passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in Andrews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 1:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastors R.C. Rivera and Miguel Vivero, officiating. Armando was born on April 17, 1950 in Artesia, New Mexico to Roberto Cabrera Gutierrez and Aurora Rodriguez. He was raised in Dexter, New Mexico and graduated from Dexter High School in 1968. He had worked at a farm equipment company in Roswell, NM, at a family cantaloupe farm in Pecos, and moved to Andrews in 1975. He had worked as a foreman for Kirby West Vaccum Plant from 1975 – 1987. He moved to Wisconsin and worked as a foreman for Polco Metal, and returned to Andrews in 1993. He worked as a foreman for Palmer Tank of Texas from 1993 – 2004 and Lotus, LLC from 2004 – 2016. He married Maria Elena Aguirre on November 7, 1998. He had been a member and a deacon of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Andrews, where he had served on mission trips with his daughter. He was known to be a hard worker, a great provider to his family, and loved spending time with them. He loved to work in his yard, hunt, loved the Dallas Cowboys, attending his grandchildren’s games, and had coached his children in Football and T-Ball. He is currently a member of Iglesia De Cristo, 708 NW Avenue G, in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Manuel Sanchez, and son, Victor Pillado, Jr.
Armando is survived by his wife, Maria E. Gutierrez of Andrews, TX, 4 daughters, Cindy Salinas of Weatherford, TX, Christy Hernandez and husband, Savino, of Andrews, TX, LeeAnn Saiz of Roswell, NM, and Virginia Pillado of Midland, 1 son, Alonzo Pillado and wife, Sandra, of Andrews, TX, 6 sisters, Angelina Galindo of Roswell, NM, Alice Salcido and husband, Elias, of Roswell, NM, Elma Barela of Hagerman, NM, Gracie Mireles and husband, Thomas, of Dexter, NM, Cathy Renteria and husband, Johnny, of Austin, TX, and Diane Anchondo and husband, Armando, of Dexter, NM, 17 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
