Charles was born on March 9, 1931 in Boonville, Missouri to Alton and Essie Beale Jones. He grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. Charles married Helen Louise Richardson on July 8, 1961 in Memphis. He served in the Army during the Korean war. It was in Korea in a foxhole that he made a vow to God to give his life to the Lord and to spend the rest of his days preaching the good news of Jesus. Is was apparent that this vow was more than a promise because it became his life mission. Charles attended Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tennessee where he studied the Bible. The family could not talk about Charles without talking about the Lord, they were inseparable. It amazed his family that he was able to spend many hours ministering to people without sacrificing time with his kids. He loved his wife more than his own life and even in the end would call out her name. Charles served in the ministry in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Pakistan, Canada and Odessa, Texas. He and his wife both made a difference in the lives of many people wherever they were for the glory of God.
